Hybrid Trekking Bike – The word ‘hybrid’ in the world of bicycles (not to be confused with ‘hybrid’ cars) is simply used to describe a manual bicycle that can be used on a variety of surfaces, road and light off-road trails. Ideally suited for mid distance rides of around 50 miles (80 kilometers) per day. Our hybrid bikes feature a front suspension fork for a more comfortable ride on uneven surfaces, a wide range of gears to tackle climbs, and grippy tyres and hydraulic disc brakes help provide control and reliable stopping power. All our hybrid trekking bikes come fitted with mudguards, luggage rack and a bottle cage. Our fleet of hybrid bikes consists of models including Cube ‘Nature’, Trek ‘Dual Sport’ and Marin ‘San Rafael’.
Gravel Bike – Gravel bikes look like road bikes, both have drop handlebars. However gravel bikes have lower gearing ratio and thicker tyres so they can ride over a variety of road and off road surfaces. Gravel bikes are very popular for their versatility, they are capable of covering long distances quickly and with confidence, making them popular for cyclists looking for a bike to use for multi-day bikepacking trips, daily commutes and even off-road cycling. Our Ridley Kanzo Apex gravel bikes feature cable disc brakes, 11 speed Sram Apex gearing, and come fitted mudguards and bottle holders. Frame, seat and handlebar bags are also available to hire for bikepacking adventures.
Pedal Assisted Electric Bike (E-Bike) – Helping the rider cycle faster and for longer distances. Our quality e-bikes feature reliable Bosch and Shimano Steps powered mid drive motors that assist the rider’s pedalling for distances of typically up to 60 miles/100 kms* on a single charge. E-bikes have become very popular in recent years with cyclists looking for a less strenuous workout or to cycle longer… It really is just like riding a bike! Our stock e-bikes include brands such as Cube, Ridley, Lappiere and Ortler. All e-bikes come fitted with mudguards and luggage racks.
Our electric pedal assist bicycles feature the latest e-bike motor technology and have an average range of 45 miles (75 kilometres). This is dependent on gradient, ambient temperature, weight of rider and luggage, wind and use of the bikes pedal assist function. However, the bike will still operate as a manual bicycle without battery power. For multiple day hire we will provide a battery charger, which requires a 230v power supply and will take approximately 4 hours to fully charge a battery from empty. Our e-bikes must be stored overnight in a dry secure place with the battery removed. Please note: The legal minimum age is 14 years for riders using e-bikes on public roads in the UK.
