Hello and welcome, my name is Johann and I am the owner and founder of The Tartan Bicycle Company.

I was raised close to Edinburgh and have proudly guided bike tours throughout Scotland since 2012. During my 20-year obsession with bicycles, I’ve enjoyed taking part in many disciplines of the sport including mountain biking, road cycling and touring. My other passion is Scotland; with its unique landscape, history and people. I consider myself very fortunate to live in a country where everyone is free to explore and which features such a good cycling infrastructure. What better way to experience Scotland than on a humble bicycle!

Riding bicycles in beautiful surroundings, making new friends and having a bit of a banter, are what we believe to be vital to having a good time on any bike tour around Scotland.

To date, we have taken thousands of visitors from all over the globe on our carefully selected bike routes. There is something for everyone, and with the option of our quality e-bikes, almost all of our tours are achievable by anyone who can ride a bike.  We are consistently fine-tuning our craft to make your experience as memorable and personal as possible.
